It's decided, mom and I are spending Christmas watching movies in my newly re-arranged apartment (it now looks about as good as it possibly could with my hideous old mismatched couch/armchair combo). I'm happy, this is my favorite kind of Christmas (especially ever since we stopped doing the big traditional gatherings at my grandparents), so now I just need to find us a movie or two.
I say "just", but basically what I need is a Christmas miracle. :/ I've seen a lot of movies, and my mom doesn't want to see a lot of movies, so I pretty much have to find that one single Christmas-appropriate movie that I haven't seen and that isn't fantasy/sci-fi, animated, too cute, not cute enough, too hysterical or, you know, bad. Hooboy. Any ideas? Yeah me neither. Oh and one more thing: it has to be downloadable with Swedish subtitles or rentable in Swedish video stores, because mom's not as awesome at teh English as I are. :p Okay, bad joke, moving on.
In other news, I'm liking Being Erica well enough - it's not awesome, but watchable and cute, and when I get bored I can play "who should play Erica in the remake" (right now I'm stuck on the idea of Caroline Dhavernas ditching her new medical show for it, I think it would make a fun nod to Tyron Leitso being in the Canadian version. Other ideas: Amy Acker, Anna Friel, Liza Weil, Ellen Muth, Amber Tamblyn, Kristen Bell [obligatory entry on all fantasy cast lists], and
ANYONE EXCEPT THE PEOPLE ON THIS LIST). Then again, I loooove
Erin Karpluk's idea to make it Eric in the US version instead, although her casting suggestion is another story. Clearly the obvious choice there would be Adam Brody. <3 Man I miss Adam Brody...
Okay, off to scour the internets for the movie-equivalent of a rainbow-coloured, gingerbread-scented unicorn. Wish me luck.
