So, lotsa shows premiered today, new shows and new seasons of old shows. A quick rundown of the ones I got through tonight:
Returning shows
Castle: Better than ever, cannot believe how much more adorable everyone got over the hiatus. I even almost shipped Beckett/Castle, and I have never bothered with those two!
Chuck: Mildly entertaining, but nothing that made me go "yay this show is back on my TV". I ... seriously can't think of anything else to say, good or bad, that's how meh I am over this. The most exciting thing about the whole episode were the tiny cameos by Roman Grant, glorious, detestable, wonderful Roman Grant. (I can't remember the actor's name, that's how tired I am right now. Ugh.) Oh how I miss that magnificent bastard...
How I Met Your Mother: Sigh, I know I was kidding myself, but I *WAS* kind of hoping we'd start this season off with meeting the mother (like how last season SHOULD have ended). I know, I know, I'm stupid. Anyways, it's clear to me that Community has ruined me for other comedy shows, because the crude, predictable jokes and the laugh track just grated for me. I feel no love for these characters anymore, not even Marshall and Lily. Sad, but true. :(
New shows
Chase: Got through about 5-10 minutes before dying of boredom. If you're looking for a show about US Marshals, In Plain Sight is the one you want, not this. Trust me, k?
Mike & Molly: Harmless enough but so not my thing, I'm just so over laugh tracks now that I think I'm developing an allergy. It just seems like wherever there's a laugh track, there's predictable, boring, stupid jokes.
Hawaii 5-0: Surprisingly not sucky, although half-way through I was already tired of Alex O'Loughin being emo over his daddy. Also, the fact that they had James Masters and him in the same episode and no one made a single vampire reference saddens me. :p Anyway, will do as padding for my TV schedule, but mostly: yawn.
The Glades: Technically I saw the pilot yesterday and technically it premiered a while ago, but I'll just sneak it in here at the end and hope no one notices... Basically it's getting the same review as H5-0 anyway; it's a harmless, meaningless procedural that neither gives anything to me nor demands anything from me. Or in a word: yawn.
I didn't get around to watching Lone Star, or The Event, because by the time I got to it I already had a headache and didn't want to add another one to it. (Can you tell I'm less than excited for this show? It seems fucking stupid. It seems even more fucking stupid than Flash Forward, and that's saying something.) Also, I'm not watching House this season. 6 seasons is enough for me, I just can't take any more.
In other news, I kinda think I like/love Lost Girl. I think it might be kind of a lame show, maybe, but I don't care because it's A) hilarious, B) different and C) HAWT. I'm even sorta counting the days until the next episode already. :D Although obviously I'm not as excited as I am about Community. THREE MORE DAYS GUYS. THREEEEEEEE. I'm so nervous/excited I can't even! :O THREE DAYS.
I'm sooo happy TV season is back on, I really feel like getting lost in some shows right now. If there's something new I should be trying or giving another chance, don't hesitate to mention it. Meanwhile,
Friday or
October now plx?
PS:
Day made.
