Quick q: Anyone got any recs for creative (fandom-related) communities with challenges? Like land comms etc (although those seems to have largely gone out of style*)? I always have too many ideas for too many shows so having something like challenges or prompts or games really helps in focusing my attention, especially now that I currently don't have a super-obsession to focus on.
* = with the exception of this:
Where do you stand in the fight for Beacon Hills? Are you a proud hunter or a determined werewolf? Join beacon_hills, an interactive challenge comm for MTV's Teen Wolf and find out. The 4th Phase is starting and it'd be great fun to have some new member join in the fun.
You can either become a Hunter or a Werewolf, but both team are great and you'll have fun with which every one you are sorted into.
So yeah, I have that and it's fun and basically I want more of it. Basically: where does the creative talented cool kids hang out these days so I can stalk them?
[Game of Thrones 309]Meanwhile, how bout that Red Wedding, eh? XD I was spoiled, months ago by Tumblr, so I was prepared. Kinda wish I hadn't been - it would have been a cool twist (well, sorta - they did foreshadow it a fair bit within the show) and I was never terribly attatched to either of them, but knowing in advance did make the reactions of the unspoiled more fun. Been looking at videos and reading the tweets, honestly it's like people never watched this show before? I mean yeah, it's a bold move, a nice twist, but it's not like they've been coy about who they're willing to kill and whether or not this will have happy endings. I mean, direct quotes include "If you think this has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention" and "Anyone can be killed" - which they made good on in the first season by killing Ned. Although I guess they have been laying low with the killing of central characters since then, maybe people were lulled into a false sense of safety in s2, IDK. Also I wasn't 100% positively spoiled on Talisa and Catelyn, I read some conflicting spoilers on those, so that was atleast partly unexpected. I can't say I'll miss them but it was a powerful, really sad scene, especially with Arya outside and the wolf being killed. I really think I might be saddest about that, I was hoping for a second that Arya would rescue him atleast and then she'd have a wolf again, but nope. The Dany stuff was super-random and I didn't get it - some really weird editing choices there, it felt out of place in the episode. And ofc there endeth the cuteness of Jon/Ygritte, like I knew it would, so now I'm officially on Team Fuck Jon Snow. HDU betray the awesomeness of Ygritte, you literal bastard? Fuck you and fuck your floppy hair. And your little wolf, too! (No, not really, JK about the wolf.)
[Orphan Black]The Orphan Black finale was good (oh, did I mention I watched it and love it? I can't remember), although some things were a bit off. Needed more Hot Paul and Felix, for one thing, and I didn't like how the Helena thing played out, but .... it was okay. Just didn't *quite* live up to the awesomeness of the other 9 episodes, basically. But yeah, awesome show and I love it.
