Shameless: Right, it's official, I now hate Jimmy beyond the point of redemption. There goes that ship, glub glub! Damnit though, I just want someone to take care of Fiona! I don't even care who anymore. Ugh, Fiona. I can't even ... just ugh. You beautiful magnificent broken person. And ditto Debbie and Lip. This fucking family.
The Walking Dead: Ugh, the previouslies put me in a bad mood for this episode. Did we need to be reminded of how shitty last ep was? And of course we have to start with fucking Lori again, whyyyy. This is a zombie show, not freaking Ghost Whisperer! I hate hallucinations in shows, find some other way to convey your character's descent into madness. Writing repeated sentences on the walls in blood is a classic!
The Governor is one hell of a manipulator, I will give him (and Andrea) that. Still, "no retaliation"? You're buying that, Andrea? Seriously? Oy. *Facepalm* Just when you think she can't get dumber.
Meanwhile: aww, lookit Glenn stepping up and playing leader! Shame it had to happen while he's being almost as nutty as Rick.
And aww, lookit Carol being all flirty! Shame it had to happen 5 seconds before Axel got shot. XD I nearly had a bloody heartattach when that happened though, did not see that one coming at ALL. I thought they were gearing up to have him become a problem with Carol and/or Beth in some way. Well played, show. *Invisible hat*
And that surprising headshot marked the start of this show returning to what it does best: unrelenting nailbiting action where it feels like anything could happen - and when it doesn't I don't feel disappointed (well, unless Andrea or Merle was close to kicking it), I just feel relieved and then immediately worried again because everyone knows the second you think everything is safe and cool, that's when tragedy strikes. See above, re: Axel (may he find peace in skeevy-dude heaven).
Was really scared for Hershel there when the bullets were flying, it looked like one hit him. Glad he made it, and Maggie and Carol too. But not Rick, partly because Laws of Television says he's safe (just about the only person on this show that is) and partly because I just don't curr. Was half hoping he'd start making out with ghost!Lori and then have it turn out to be a zombie instead, that would have been fun! Or that one of the zombies he wrestled with would bite him in the arm, for some poetic justice.
Not sure if I'm disappointed or relieved that Daryl and Merle reunited with the group so fast. I think probably the latter, because Daryl's come too far to put up with Merle's bullshit for any extended period of time without it feeling like character regression.
