Keeping the (health) whining to a minimum today, I will just say this: I am thisclose to taking a grinding machine or something to my teeth. Everytime I swallow or eat they poke me and it hurts. :( I hate my mouth.

Anyways, tonight I attempted to play Diablo for the first time, cause a friend's been bugging me about it (that's right! I occassionally have friends! AHA! ... this is probably why I don't have many of them.). It was ... fine? Dark and gloomy, but then so's Left 4 Dead and both did have zombies so that should have worked for me. I was a hunter like on WoW (demon hunter but same diff, I shot stuff!) and you can obviously tell both games are made by the same company. Diablo was actually prettier, UI graphics-wise, I feel like they should give WoW a makeover in that style. And it was the same style of movement/camera-angle as Puzzle Pirates so that shoulda felt right at home, but mostly it just made me sad. Especially since today is/was Pirate Day. :/

Definitely not going to be spending much time there though, because today I discovered I can literally one-shot mobs with Aimed Shot on my baby MM hunter! Basically leveling is: Hunter's Mark, Aimed Shot, collect loot, Hunter's Mark, Aimed Shot, collect loot.... Very relaxing, or should be but somehow it seems to make me tense. Maybe it's because I barely have to move or engage in the game at all. Or because of that warrior who keeps popping up and killing me. >_> I'll get you one day, person who technically is on the same team as me since this is my first Ally on this realm but is nevertheless going DOWN! *Shakefist*

I actually watched some new TV tonight instead of just repeats - 4 whole new episodes! I'm weirdly and sadly proud of that, I've gotten way too used to just rewatching old stuff. Clearly I really need for all regular shows to return, stat. For so many reasons.

White Collar was okay, I thought they might zig and instead they zagged - in a mostly good way. Still kicking myself for not seeing the father twist right away rather than 2 seconds before they actually said it, because that was pret-ty obvious in hindsight wasn't it? It felt like I should have seen that coming all along. Glad they didn't drag out Neal and Peter being at odds, that always gets old reeeally fast.

Covert Affairs: I am still hating everything about that whole godawful Simon storyline, except it turning Annie into an actual badass. It burns me to no end that we had to go through all that bullshit fuckery to get there, but if it atleast turns her into a real spy then maybe I can learn to ... repress all memories of it, atleast. IDK. But if so I am going to need more Auggie screentime, that is an unnegotiable requirement. And also more of Joan/Annie bonding time, less of Joan being wifey, a lot more ladies being badass and no more love interests for Annie for a while.

I watched the Revolution pilot and ... didn't hate it? Which isn't that much of a shocker because: apocalypse shows, but I also wasn't as disappointed by it as I thought I would be. I mean, it's definitely not fantastic, or even particularly good, but it had some surprising redeeming qualities that usually these types of shows don't have (comic relief, badass fight-scenes that doesn't put me to sleep, a somewhat relatable and non-grating leading lady). I like that they started before it happened, cause I guess the time jump 15 years into the future was necessary but immediate aftermath is my favorite part of apocalypse fiction so I appretiate they atleast showed the start. The atmosphere was really good too, with the overgrown buildings and everything, weirdly pretty somehow. Best part: smart ladies who kick ass - it's depressing how much I'm coming to appretiate that on TV lately, I've always been able to take it for granted and lately it feels like I can't.

But, on the downside: The brother (ughh), the uncle (when he wasn't shutting up and fighting anyway), the love interest (who atleast got mildly less boring after turning out to be evil-ish, but still: YAWN), cartoon-like villians, and as always too much Mystery with a capital M - as in "look at this mysterious necklace-flashdrive thingy and how this random lady has one too and it makes technology work and isn't that just so mysterious?". Don't try so hard, Epic Shows. We know there's a mystery, you don't need to shove it down our throats.

Jury's still out on The Cape being the big villain, I suppose that makes him both less and more cartoony than that other guy, depending on how you look at it. :p Probably it suits him better, being a villian, but for some reason I groaned when they revealed him anyway?
Bottom line: Needs a LOT of work to actually be good and odds are low it'll improve even if it survives long enough to have the chance to, but here's hoping anyway.

Ep 3 of Go On: Speaking of improving, this show is doing that. Slowly, and still needs work in some areas but it came together okay towards the end. The one thing I'm hesitant about is how fast Ryan's getting comfortable with the group: it's the exact same problem of Community all over again, and while I appretiate them not drawing out the inevitable - we know he's going to start liking these people, we know they'll be around - it really does require the show to NOT KEEP DRAGGING IT BACK UP. I mean, there's obviously a grace period of like, half a season, maybe a whole one at the very most, but after that if your main straight-man character has accepted his role among the lovable misfit crazies then that is no longer acceptable as the main plot of all your episodes. It's the single most infuriating thing about Community for me, even more so than their insistance on clinging on to Chang. Character development is a permanent thing, not something that is reset with every episode.
Anyway, obviously this show is still in the grace period, but it's something I'm definitely going to be sensitive about. Other notes: Plx tone down the twerpyness of hot co-worker/best friend-guy, and tone up the crazy on the shrink. It's her one redeeming quality, other than not being an actually licenced shrink.

Sleeeeep now, lady from the hospital coming here tomorrow (gonna be a contact person thingy between me and my doctor, or something like that) and I should probably attempt to tidy up a bit before too. >_
