Gonna keep it short tonight (yes, really! No I'm serious, really!), I really wanna try getting to bed before 3am for once.
Started watching Continuum, two episodes, and despite a long list of grievances* I still like it enough to stick with it. I mean, I guess I should have known that nothing would keep me away from a show that is, basically, the scripted show version of my favorite Discovery documentary (2057). Future-stuff = HELLO, NERD-BONER. Because the odds of me being alive in 77 years - hell, even of being alive in 2077 - are slim to none, so if I can catch a glimpse of an even slightly possible version of what that might look like? Fuck yes.
*Said list: The main character has a boring husband and a kid - in direct violation with the Laws of Television (writers, WHY DO YOU NEVER LEARN). Despite this the show seems to be pushing for a ship-situation with Boring Handsome Cop, which, even if he had been working for me, would be a nono since she's married with a kid, buuut as it happens Boring Handsome Cop is of the Eddie Cibirian-school of technically handsome fellas who still somehow manages to gross me out completely, and is a crappily written, boring, dime-a-dozen character to boot so that's a double-negative on the shipping with a side of HALES NO.
Meanwhile, although I love the budding friendship between Alec and Ciera, I am worried he'll turn out to be evil because his future self is played by that guy who ALWAYS plays evil dudes. Another very questionable decision by the casting people, in other words.
Also, this show has a baaaad case of the Sad Emo Music Montage Syndrome, like, one of those cases where it's annoying and they should stop. Step awaaaay from the ballads and make lots of sudden movements so as to not be mistaken for slow motion.
Meh, almost 3am, I am the worst ever, seriously. And not very short either. Don't even say anything, I'll kick my own ass all the way to bed. >_<
