So, after five-ish hours of leveling my second hunter through Cataclysm, two things are jumping out at me. 1) I adore hunters, hunter is my class, I'm gonna roll another 10 of them because they're awesome. And 2) Cata questing SUCKS. Even with how much I'm enjoying my hunter, I still hate it. It's not just that I spent 5+ hours leveling and only advanced 2 measly levels, although that definitely doesn't help. There's just something about the quests that reeeeally makes me want to bash my head to the wall. IDEK what it is, it's not like lower-level questing is that much more ... well, anything, really. Maybe it's just because it's the LAST. FIVE. LEVELS. But if they were to switch out Cata with NR I don't think it would help, so I dunno, I'm pretty sure it just plain sucks. What say you, 2 people on my flist who plays this game?
Did I mention Bunheads yet? I can't remember if I commented on the first 2 episodes and since there's no tag for it I'm guessing not. Anyway, I like it! It's got the worst title since Cougar Town, the basic plot is a pretty hard sell (they give it a good effort, atleast!) and it's trying a weeee bit too hard to be Gilmore Girls, but since I miss that show more than I had actually realized appearantly that's something I will happily overlook. Emily Gilmore is back on my TV, all is right with the world! And I like New Lorelai quite a lot too, and the little Rorys are alright. But yeah, most of all it has that typical Gilmore Girls dialogue and quirky humor/characters which it turns out I have missed a whole bunch. I feel like my life is a little bit better with this show in it, basically.
Neree? Pleeeeeease tell me you're around to discuss Eureka with me, because I am FREAKING OUT. What if Holly's not paranoid?? What if she's right! What if they're still in the virtual reality?! O_O
On the one hand I would have to give the writers serious props, if this was the case, because the thought did not even cross my mind until she brought it up, but on the other, more important hand, there is a reason why I was so quick to believe we'd seen the end of it: IT SUCKED. And the thing is, I did think it was slightly too good to be true that we'd get to spend the last season of the show watching to do what it actually does best: wacky scifi smalltown adventures. Well, that and the reprecussions of the virtual reality thing, but I felt like we were finally moving past that now, aside from the Holly stuff and I like Holly! But then she had to go and say THAT, and one of the fundamental rules of television - especially in scifi - is that you never dismiss the crazy people. In fact, most of the time they end up being right.
And well, people HAVE been acting pretty weird, haven't they? When you think about it? Carter's been especially manic about his Everyday Man-stuff, and then the him/Jo stuff (although maybe it'll turn out THAT was part of the fake-out too somehow, and they'll find a way to have them react to it for REALS this time which they will do by Carter having a panic attack and Jo punching him in the face and there will be NO talk or acknowledgement of any feelings, possible or otherwise, because in no real and believable universe is that a pairing that actually makes sense). And then Grace turning out to be a spy, that's a bit weird isn't it, even if it supposedly has to do with the time jump? And Zane is in a suit! A SUIT! Voluntarily! Clearly this, if nothing else, is proof that reality has been tampered with!
Okay, this is the part where you slap me and tell me I'm being paranoid and wrong and that this is completely illogical and there's no way in hell the writers of Eureka are that sneaky and devious. Right? Right...?
Falling Skies: Does anyone else want to see Tom and Pope punch this show in the face, rather than see Tom punch Pope? Cause I do. Remember at the end of last season when it felt like they were sort of giving that character some well-needed developement to the point where he could maybe be a valued part of the cast/2nd Mass, because this show baaaadly needs some snarky badasses who can point out that Tom is a bit too much of a DAD sometimes? Maybe I imagined that, IDK, because it's like it never happened.
And so we're left with the Brady Bunch, and Weaver, and Maggie (who has been drinking the Kool-Aid quite a bit, it seems).
Shame about Jimmy, but I guess his death might be more value to the show than he was as a character. Only vaguely remember him having some good moments in s1, and being annoying the rest of the time. Atleast this raises the stakes a bit, puts the knife back on the show's throat, type of thing. Maybe they've just decided to go "sod character developement, lets just kill people instead!". Hey, it worked for The Walking Dead...
