ACTA in a Nutshell -
What is ACTA? ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.
Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”
What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

I had never heard about this before it popped up on my flist, but it seems terrifying. I wish I had the energy to get involved and educated on the fight against all these insane acts, but since I can barely crawl out of bed in the mornings I'll settle for passing things like this onward.
Meanwhile, appearantly my last post didn't show up on people's lists (thanks for the heads-up, catteo!) so I'm reposting the fun bit of it below. If you want to see the whole thing with my random ramblings and thoughts on Thor the post is here.

5. Nostalgia! Do you miss Gilmore Girls, The OC, Friday Night Lights or True Blood (back when it was still good)? Well then, you're in luck! Sort of. Because here, Summer Roberts and Jason Street walk around the streets of Stars Hallow and Wade works at Merlotte's The Rammer Jammer - all the southern-y quiantness, none of the pesky vampires! Hooray for set-recycling!

When this show started I was all set on shipping Rachel Bilson and Scott Porter's characters, since they're the people I recognized the most and hey, Summer Roberts and Jason Street? That's a pretty fun pairing, right? Turns out, not so much, because then these two happened. And when I say "happened", I mean "had sexy makeouts in a car pretty much right away, then made out some more, flirted a whole bunch, bickered, nearly hooked up, and then Wade developed serious ~feelings and started throwing the man-pain face around like he was friggin Sam Swarek". So, shippyness? CHECK AND CHECK.
3. All that aside, Wade is pretty delightful all on his own.
And I don't *JUST* mean that he's hot, although lets face it, that is the main selling-point for both him and this show, and if I know my flist at all then this shouldn't pose too much of a problem. But basically, I'm pretty sure this guy Wilson Bethel is gonna be going places once this show goes to the big CW farm of retired shows, and when he does you'll be able to say "hey, I liked him first!". Kinda like how I can with Ian Somerhalder, who I've loved since the 8-episode long Young Americans (which, coincidentally, is also the number of people who watched that show). Pretty sure by fandom logic this means I own him. Little bit. But I digress...

Hart of Dixie returns from hiatus on Monday in the US. (Meaning I get to see the new episode today! Hazzah!)
ALSO: It should be noted that I wrote the above at 3am, and half-way through it I realized how late it was and felt stressed. Not that this is a huge deviation from how I usually write my posts, but... Still.
