(no subject)
Got some sad news today: one of our old summerhouse-neighbors has passed away. He and his wife were sort of like my second grandparents for a while, like from when I was 7 until my parents divorced at 15 (dad got the summerhouse, he kept in touch with them but my mom and I didn't). Very cool people, fun and fun-loving and they were cool about my eating issues when I was over there, which was a fair amount since me and their grandson hung out a lot when he was there. But yeah, hadn't talked to them more than once for about 11 years, so it's not like, a huge deal, or anything. Just ... sad. :/
In other grandparental news, I just got back from seeing my real ones at my mom's and they're off looking at apartments here now! I hope they find one they like here, I really would like to have them around here. I would have gone with them myself but A) I'm superduper tired and cranky and feel like crap today, and B) in total they're already 5 people coming to look at a 2 bedroom apartment (mom, aunt, uncle).
Okay, that's enough boring RL stuff. Meme time!
03: Favorite case?
A meme for any other cop or procedural show would not have gotten this question from me, because who the feck cares about the cases, but RB actually frequently have pretty cool ones which you tend to notice around the 15th time you rewatch an episode for the Sam/Andy scenes.
I'm a bit tempted to go with I'm going to go with Blue Guy, mostly because of Oliver's Braveheart joke and Andy's speech of awesomeness and Chris awesomely chatting him up in the cell and "his partner IS his partner". BUT, it did have some serious afterschool special vibes and stuff, so ... no. Also almost picked 113 (great callbacks to the pilot, good flow of starting in one place and ending up somewhere else, tropey awesomeness and set-ups for shippy stuff), but I think in the end I've settled on the icecream truck-jacking of 107. That one had all the things working for it: a fun lead-in with the "we're in pursuit of ... an ice cream truck?!" and then gruesome awfulness, Andy being plucky and persistant and investigating, Sam carrying a kid, Sam fessing up about his Feelings, not to mention a killer (HAHA, 'SCUSE THE PUN!) resolution and also Sam's face being awesome and lighting up and basically going "Thank you, random witness/"victim" dude, for being a giant jerkface so we can steal your icecream for the entire station!" Random, but I love that pleased grin like he really wanted to take some ice cream, but he wasn't going to until - TADAA, turns out the dude is huge asshole who wants to press charges and calls 13 year old girls "bitch". JACKPOT, FREE ICECREAM TIME.
The fact that this case in the end lead to hot, hot blackout almost-sex HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY DECISION, okay? Lets just be clear about that.
