Hart of Dixie: Oh man. I wanted to like this SO VERY MUCH. Rachel Bilson! Scott Porter! Josh Schwartz! The South! There was no reason for this not to be delightful! So whoever wrote and directed this pilot: WELL DONE SIR/MA'M, you did the impossible in turning this into a cringey, lame, overly sentimental mess. For reals, it should not have been possible for this episode to be this bad! AND YET.
Buuut I'm totally going to keep watching until it's cancelled, because of the aforementioned involved people and that guy she made out with in the car who was also kind of hot and smirky. Here's hoping for a miracle 1000% improvement in quality and it somehow not getting cancelled in 5 minutes.
How I Met Your Mother: Arrrgh, SO CLOSE! This was SO CLOSE to being a perfect, 100% delightful, early-seasons-level episode! The jokes were funny! The jumpy storytelling format was working rather than feeling like something they do because they always have! I was even kind of happy about seeing Victoria again, so much so that I'm not sure I would have minded if she stayed! And they made up for the stupidity of the "Ted washes dishes to atone for CHEATING ON HER" crap atleast a little, which is more than I usually expect from this show these days.
So WHYYYYYYY did they have to poke the damned Robin/Ted thing again? GOD, WHYYYYYYYY? JUST DROP IT ALREADY, WE'VE BEEN OVER THIS ONE THOUSAND TIMES BY NOW. She's not the mother, and if she is, I want my damn money back. Figuratively speaking.
But yeah, up until the last 10 seconds, this was like old times. Except for Barney making hashtag-jokes, unless someone hit me over the head and I woke up back in 2010.
Also watched Castle and Hawaii 5-0, but no comments on that other than that they were both good. Had to save Terra Nova for another day because of raidyness, but I'm looking forward to seeing that. Although also not, because I have this gut feeling it's going to be blah and I really want it to not be blah.
The raid went fine, we made it to Ragnaros but by the time we got there I think everyone was pretty tired (I certainly was), which I'm blaming a bit on the fact that it took us like 45 min to an hour to actually get started. And I didn't get any new gear, sadface.
