Ordered today: A Harry Potter paperback boxed set (the shinier, less childish-looking and slightly more expensive one, because look: PRETTY!), the first four Valor-books by Tanya Huff and the first Dragon Age-game. Thanks for the recs guys, you know who you are!
True Blood:
AHAHA, oh man! I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard, atleast at something that wasn't a comedy show. That was some massive and literal LOLs, that was. Still giggling! I mean, I already knew this would be a far cry from the finale of the book, where it's an all-out awesome battle with pretty much everyone involved, but I was sure as hell not expecting ... THIS. I suppose I should have, because this is the way things have been headed lately, but somehow I just always expect this show to have hit the ceiling of ridiculousness or rock bottom or whatever you wanna call it.
But no! Instead of epic battle? Some random killing, another freaking episode of freaking Ghost Whisperer, and some more random killing in a slow, stunty pace that made it feel like the episode should have ended 5 times over by the time it was done. And that whole awesome Sookie-owes-Eric-but-he-doesn't-remember-that-she-owes-him dynamic? Replaced by an actual, honest-to-God Kelly-style "I choose me" scene (f'real, I can't even type this without giggling, I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS REALLY HAPPENED!). Which I guess I should be eternally grateful that it didn't turn into a threesome instead!
And I mean, it's not like this is just "the book did it better" sour grapes, there was plently of show-only material that was just pissed away. Witch battle aside, having Marnie resolved by a therapy session with Gran and Antonia (no matter how much of a whiny emo teenager she turned out to be with the cutting and the "nobody understands me" and the "but I wanna kill all the vampires mommy" hissyfits)? LAME. And they had Holly dressed up as an actual freaking fairy, started the season with fairy-land, did all that crap with Andy stumbling into a fairy porno-flick in the woods last episode, and then ... no fairy stuff? Oh-kay. And don't even get me started on freaking René coming back to haunt Arlene ... to warn her about one of this shows last remaining somewhat-sympathetic characters. What. The. Fuck.
I want to be clear though: I very much enjoyed this episode! It should be hailed as one of the most spectacular failures and worst episodes of all time, but I did enjoy it. Just ... in the same way I enjoy watching crappy teen slasher flicks where the group splits up EVERY SINGLE TIME, or those Killer Tomatoes-movies. And I dunno, maybe that's what they were going for here? If so, mission accomplished - I will be laughing about this all week for sure. Haha, of all the shows to rip off, they went with Beverly Hills and Ghost Whisperer, that's priceless.
Lost Girl:
Awwww, Kenzi/Bo. <3 Favorite BFFs on TV right now, yo! Yep, that includes Mike and Harvey from Suits, because there are loads of bromances around but far too few awesome girl-friendships. I'd be happy if this show was just Bo and Kenzi sitting on the couch eating ice cream and talking about boys. Hell, lets be honest, I'd be happy if this show was Kenzi just reading the phonebook, because you know she'd make snarky comments about anyone with a funny last name.
Other stuff: CotW: boring, new Ash is whatever, intrigue and mystery and Bloodking stuff = meh, IDC.
Oh look, a meme! Stolen from ... someone, sorry, I have the memory of an ant. A senile ant.
Rules: Bold all of the following TV shows which you've ever seen 3 or more episodes of in your lifetime. Underline a show if you're positive you've seen every episode of it. If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order), but you must delete one show for each one that you add.

(I dutifully excluded the shows I wasn't sure I'd seen 3 whole episodes of - lots of these shows ran on TV when I was growing up and I caught bit and pieces here and there, but with some I wasn't sure if those bits amounted to 3 episodes. I also changed out 3 shows, cookies and internets if you can guess which ones I put in.)
