sunset junction 2008
it's been a bit since i have posted.
and a lot has happened in between.
this is just a sunset junction rehash.
and there is video and photos involved
so.
sunset junction was pretty darn amazing.
amber and i took the bus both days all the way from UCLA to silverlake.. which ended up being about an hour.. hour and a half.
the first day we got this really old homeless man who made a game of laughing quietly to himself when others sat next to him in effort to make them get off the bus. he literally made a game of it. and to make things super interesting, in hollywood, he was joined by this another older guy who kept saying things like "i'm not a creep" " i'm not weird" and trying to sleep on himself. He later started ranting about jesus.. and then said something along the lines of "you guys are all probably faggots" (referring to amber, myself, and two of ambers friends -both guys) we all just sat there and ignored it. but i was ready to bust a gut laughing.
as far as shows...
well. we saw bodies of water, which.. were amazing. the female vocalist wails like janis joplin (i think) and i love it.
then there was menomena..
which was of course amazing. i sadly was running out of battery power at this point and wasn't able to get much.
and broken social scene.. who were good. I like them.. but i was really there for menomena. :)
and again.. my batteries like completely died. so i think i got one.. "meh" picture of them:
we also stopped by joaquin's house.. which was a great break from the heat and festival..
although we did get free beer.. and ate a lot of edibles. :)
day 2 was just amber and i...
the bus ride there was filled with really funny gay men and women trying to transport large plants via LA bus system. MUAHAH!
i felt sorry for the plant.
but the bus was packed..
and sunset junction was even more so.
today was a lot of.... bondage clothing?
i saw several naked butts.
scerrrry.
as far as shows..
we saw !!! (chk chk chk)
and the black keys..
both of which were super amazing..
and this time.. i came prepared with extra batteries
(and still killed ALL of them. fuckin camera sucks the life of out of things)
but i was able to get some pretty decent pictures and video (on my still camera, mind you)

All in all it was a great LA weekend and i had an amazing time.
The two days amber was at work (friday and monday)
tink and i chillaxed around her apartment and went and explored the lovely botanical gardens.
I had hoped to explore further but it was damned hot..
too hot.
