i did good.
i didn’t stress that much.
after all.
i knew what i was in for.
the lady dr. was super nice. very much made up for the so far not-so-wonderful experiences that i have been having. we talked a minute. basically what she told me is that i have a classic toxic thyroid and that it’s very uncommon for their to be cancer. then we got straight to the biopsy.
much less dramatic than the last dr., i have to say.
and mr nurse man did good and had me sign all the paperwork before i was laying down on a funny little bed.
anyways.
onto the gory details.
got a “numbing” shot in my neck.
i say “numbing” because. i’m not really sure that it numbed me at all.
either that.
or i would hate to feel it without the numbing.
cus after that.
she sticks a 22 gauge needle into my neck.
and uses her little sonogram thing
to find out that most of the lump in my neck
is a cyst of some sort?
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
so she ends up draining like several teaspoons of liquid from it.
which.. feels weird. and pressure painful.
then gets what she needs for the biopsy.
[but she warns that since there is so much liquid in there, there might not be enough cells to test.]
ie: i might have to do it again.
which. is likely anyways.
to drain more of the liquid out.
[ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww]
othe than that.
as long as the biopsy comes back negative
[which she is pretty sure it will]
that i go in on wednesday of next week
and get to drink some goo
and be radioactive for a few weeks.
then in 6 weeks. i go back in for blood work.
maybe more liquid removal.
and just a "see what we do from here type thing"
i feel like thats a long time.
but just as long as i start to feel better.
thats really all that matters.
