I wanted to write in this because I feel like what I express in facebook and twitter are little bits of things, and tumblr confuses and scares me, so it's best to write things out here.

Anyway, school has been good. Or at least, I've adapted to it and gotten into the swing of things and have formed good study habits and the ability to get my work done on time. This is actually pretty good because I can write my essay on time and go to motorbike's awesome birthday pool party.

I know I told you this in person and on facebook and I bought you a little present and some pink wine, but happy birthday again. You are my buddy!

So classes. English 102 continues to infuriate me. I don't expect people to discuss the finer points of Gothe but there's some a stupidity and density that surrounds them all. We had to go over the 1st drafts of our essays with one and other, and one of them said "I don't understand what your thesis is"

Now, if I'd been told this by one of my friends, or a teacher or someone I felt had good critical thinking skills, I would have said "Oh no! That is not good! I will go home and re-work this paper!"

But I took everything they all said with a grain of salt because these are the people who didn't understand "A Tell-Tale Heart".

I did however, send the paper out to a few people and totally took all of their advice, so if I get an F on this paper, I am blaming you!

Psychology 101 is a gen-ed class inhabited by kids who needed that extra humanities credit. No one is rude in the class, but people are general stupid. There are high lights though, the teacher is pretty fantastic, (his goal in life to have a cloned Archaeopteryx as a pet). And for the most part it's just lecturing, except when the class derails because we started talking about drugs for 20 minutes.

Math leads me to say my favorite quote over and over "In the Land of the Blind. The One-Eyed Man is King"

This became true when I got a 76 on my test. I reviewed it and saw where I'd messed up, and restudied what I'd had trouble in until I did get it. However, I think I had one of the higher grades in the class. Three kids total had gotten A's and B's and everyone else around me had gotten D's and F's. I know math is hard for people, but it sort of blew my mind.

I formed a study group with the kids in the class who genuinely appeared confused by the test, so hopefully we can all boost our grades a bit.

Japanese 2 is my most challenging class, it's a lot to take in. Our Sensei always has interesting things to say.

"So when Japanese people say 'arigato' they are literally saying 'to exist is hard'!"

We stopped the class early last week and we actually talked a bit about Japan, it's history, and why living on an island has created a culture with the emphasis on social harmony over individuality.

It was also interesting to get the perspective of the tsunami and earthquake from a Japanese individual.

"For first week all of Japan very concerned! We all watch it on tv! .....then we go back to watching 'Which Ramen is Best'!"

I just need to memorize these 60 verbs on hand. I'm literally halfway there.

Mentally, I feel okay with my classes. I have noticed that I feel a LOT more lonely then usual however. School has cut into a lot of my socialization and most of my friends in the area, are busy themselves, or have vanished from my lives. I've been makeing it a point to try to do at least something once a week with someone and it's going well.

I honestly think once I start to get into more advanced/specific classes, I'll be able to make some actual friends, though motorbike tells me I should take the reality show attitude and declare "I'm not here to make friends!"

Speaking of friends, sairobi your cloak is almost done and it looks great and will fit on your shoulders perfectly! I'll send you a photo once I'm done for real real. Not for play play.

me fail english?
