I wrote a speach!

Dec 16, 2009 22:16

So unless you were motorbike you did not get to see my graduation speach.
That is why I transcribed it for you all.

To quote Tallulah Bankhead. “If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner.”
Originally, I had not planned to attend this, but I felt it was very important for me to give my thanks to Diane Sisko.
Diane, I am blown away by how much you believed in me. I can’t count how many teachers in my life have written me off as a trouble maker, or a hindrance and thrown me aside, but you Diane actually saw my desire to learn and achieve and you helped me believe that. I don’t have words to express how much that has meant to me.
Yes, I have lost count of how many times you have fought for me. That is priceless.
But more importantly, you have taught me how to fight for myself. And that is irreplaceable.
When I first started out here two years ago, I had many goals. I was young and naïve and had a list of things I knew I would achieve.
But times have changed. Times here have been hard for me. I have not made friends.
In fact, with my harsh criticism of Twilight and Lady Gaga, I have actually made enemies.
Powerful, powerful enemies.
But I have also gained some amazing things.
I have gained balls.
Amazing huge balls like that of a female hyena that I would show you all, if not for the trouble I’m already in here at this place.
And with these balls, I am not afraid to stand up for myself and with these balls I am not afraid to stand for myself, and with these balls, I am not afraid to stay true to myself, and with these balls, the wisdom and experience I have learned here. I am not afraid to go foreword and do whatever I damn well please in my life.
Thank you.
