The other week,
motorbike was up in LA, I brought up the idea of wanting to do a Let the Right One In FST. So I went home, pulled up about 19 songs I thought might work, and cut it in half.
The problem right now is that
fst community is slowly dying. Now, don't get me wrong. I like some order to my fanmixes and
fst has a theme each month, vs
fanmix where 50 House, Firefly and Harry Potter mixes are posted every day and usually use the same 20 songs.
But I liked it when the themes where simple, it had some regulations, but you knew what that theme was. Comic Book Month, Manga Month, Villains Month, TV shows month and so on. But where as a simple rotation would have worked great,
fst wanted to incorporate new themes. ...and of course that meant they asked members of the community.
But of course, the members of the community used it as an excuse to post their own FST's and we're now stuck with themes such as "Organizations from Disney/Square Enix Games" and "Boy wizards and their blond rival wizard who's name rhymes with "Meico Potroy"
So it sucks 'cause now we're loosing a lot of great themes and it's gotten ever-so lame. I use to put out an FST every month on there, and now I think the last time I did any it was in March.
So I figured why not just put the mix up on here?
Alright, that rant is over, on to the notes.
I posted about this a few weeks ago, but Let the Right One In is awesome. It's the story of a looser boy who meets a vampire girl and is really just everything you could want in a story about vampires. Normally I put a bunch of notes with my FST's about what each song is for, but this time around, I was REALLY trying to go for a not so much "this song is for when this happens", but just the feel of the movie. Which, while the movie leaves much open to interpritation, I like to think of it as a pre-teen love story. ...a very violent and bloody pre-teen love story.
Which is good for those of you who havn't seen it 'cause it means that the entire FST is spoiler free.
