Nabooru is probably the closest thing Byrne has to a "friend" here at Smash. He finds her to be somewhat annoying but intriguing at the same time. She's beautiful too. He feels something for her, but hates himself for it and tries to conceal it due to some perceived "weakness" or "vulnerability" he thinks would result. He can't seem to get rid of her either.

Jon is the only student in Byrne's class who has any potential at all. Although he's also full of himself and refuses to do drills. They were forced to kiss under the mistletoe. It was an absolute tongue masher. teeth scraping teeth, tonsil exchanging, lip bending nose squishing eye-to-eye face-joining to rewrite history

Bulba has some potential too, but Jon seems to be better. However, Byrne doesn't think he's too bad, although he has an "annoyingly chipper" voice.

Poo is somewhat intriguing to Byrne. He guided Byrne in Mu Meditation, and while the process was painful, it was enlightening. Byrne has a respect for Poo's meditation abilities and hopes to learn more from him in the future.

He's an arrogant douchebag who thinks he's awesome but he's not. Part of Byrne's dislike for Shinon stems from his jealousy over his feelings for Nabooru, but he'll never admit it. At least not yet.

Byrne has not yet met Ganon, but he knows all about him, since Byrne is from around 400 years in the future from Ganon and Nabooru's time. And he doesn't like him one bit because of the Flood that happened. But also because Ganon reminds Byrne a lot of himself, and that scares him. If he knew of Nabooru's feelings for Ganon, though, Byrne would probably hate him a lot more.
