(no subject)
Went to the Ambassadors Ball tonight. Lots of fun. Sir Vitale as the Venezian (sp?) ambassador, Melisande as the French and Peregrinne as the English.
Half the fun came from the fact that Perigrinne has a 14thC personna and Melisande has a 12th, so there were the obligatory comments regarding whether the French are actually subject to the English crown. All of which merely served as an excuse for Emilio and Oswyn to display much rapiery goodness. The French won 5-2. Huzzah!!
Got to dance many dances, and did Duncan. Although, I didn't get to do any of the Italian set. They took Il Piantone out (apparently no one knows it, although there were at least six people there who did and would have danced) and I couldn't get a partner for Rostiboli (Duncan was busy at the time). And I didn't know any of the others sufficiently well to dance them.
Still, excellent event. I really must get to more of these things.
