Duncan's birthday is coming up far, far too quickly for comfort. He's changed his mind suddenly and now he wants a party. Due to the fact that I now have less than a week to organise said event, we're compromising. We're going ice-skating next weekend with as many of the people he wants there as can make it. We'll see how it goes.
At some stage in the next month my kitchen will be getting ripped out and replaced with a new one. The installer turned up on Saturday because he'd forgotten to take one particular measurement which the factory pointed out was actually vital. We'll see how it all goes.
vonstrassburg is coming over briefly in June! Of course, knowing my luck I'll be sans kitchen at the time. Don't care. We're actually going to be in the same location. It's going to be great.
Been frantically busy at work. Far more stuff to do than there is time to do it in. For all that, I seem to be keeping people reasonably happy. This is a Good Thing. Of course, there's a deadline coming up that I'm not likely to be able to meet, so that's going to undo all the good stuff. You get that.
Been likewise busy away from work. Proofreading stuff which I'm supposed to be proofreading. Proofreading anything else which I happen to read when I take a break because I'm incapable of turning my brain off. Still got lots to do. I'd like to get some writing of my own done at some stage, but it doesn't look like happening.
Duncan keeps coming up with mini gaming adventures for various of his minis and wanting my to run the main character (while he does the NPCs). A GM in the making, definitely.
On the actual gaming front, all three of my games are going reasonably well at the moment. On Thursdays, we're currently playing Serenity (although we're Alliance military). We're having fun. Even if we haven't been paid in the last six months and have been doing stuff which the higher-ups would probably frown upon to get some cash.
In Saturday's game I got to play a doppelganger for a couple of weeks. Now I'm playing a half elf who is highly put out that his fellow adventurers failed to spot that he had been replaced by a doppelganger. :) It's all good. Shame the doppelganger died before our characters found out what he was actually after.
Sundays we are slowly gathering our stuff up after having had it all removed from us when we were taken prisoner. We are having fun re-exploring the complex that we thoroughly went over a few months back. And de-populating it at the same time. :) Of course, at the start of next week we're probably going to head upstairs and that's when it's going to get dangerous. However, I still don't have my armour back. Or my rapier. And I'm still short some other bits and pieces which I want back. So, up it will be. Unless those who are better equipped overrule me. We'll see. At some point we'll run into the general who is extremelly annoyed with my character. Hey, if you're going to assume that just because the rogue is down, then he's out, and then you're going to stand over him in order to attack one of his companions, then you deserve to get sneak attacked. Especially because you start looking veeery vulnerable. General wants revenge for his (now non-functioning) privates. :) Such is life.
Ah well. Should try and get something achieved before I go to bed.
