my karaoke shindig went well on friday, jez/kez/chris/mark/dave mackie/terry were thereand meliss did a cameo appearance at scruffy murphys beforehand: talk about dedication....she drove around the city for 30 minutes for a park to see me for like 10 minutes! ....greenbox plus was awesome, the room was nice with two couches, and a big plasma screen for the song as well as another tv and remote to choose the songs. my fav was doing folsom prison blues but other classics included winds of change, summer of 69, my way and ice ice baby. mark got a little pissed and we all ended up trying out the breatholiser before we headed to passionflower for ice cream, then all of us doing silly poses in those jap photo booth thingies.

teri's 1920's party was cool. jono v, ben (from stef's engagement party) and jez were there. ended up talking to sarah from art class for a bit too. shame about the rain though! i went as a new york reporter, so gotten my best pinstripes, stripy shirt and suspenders which i bought from anna ro down on parramatta rd. that store is funny: it's like an old skool tailor's shop that is run by this matriach korean women who yells at her sons who also work there, but don't have much of an idea on what they are actually selling in store. i must say i felt like i was the first person since 1979 to have bought suspenders....they are cool though! afterwards i bee-lined to sarah's place in forest lodge where she was having her housewarming. meliss was a happy trooper on the cocktails sarah was making up...but eventually settled down. the crowd was mostly the uni media workers/abc colleagues, made for some interesting talk but everyone had kinda paired up in the conversation so didn't get to meet everyone properly.

the meet-the-parents lunch has gone well, melissa picked me up and we got to kam fook in chatswood to meet my folks for yum cha. andy came later and the three of us ended up having coffee after. church went really well: the grand total for the building god's people pledges came up to 780k, which is awesome!

rode my bike to take meliss out to lunch at the fish markets which was lovely.... the weather today was awesome, ended up catching up on whole bunch of stuff: cooked up a storm in the evening and am going over to church tonight to watch the soccer on the big screen.
