*facepalm*
Look, for the record, I am still annoyed at a lot of things SPN does -- but I CAN ONLY RESIST SO MUCH AWESOME BEFORE I CRUMBLE. And now I maybe like SPN again. And maybe it likes me.
(Stop laughing, you in the back. I tried to stop watching it. MY WILL IS WAS LIKE IRON.)
Caps by
geckoholic SAM AND DEAN OH HI THERE YOU ARE. You guys, I've had issues with the Sam&Dean this season. My issues have issues. I LOVE THEM SO FUCKING MUCH, but even after Sam got resouled there were things that worried me, an imbalance in the relationship and their isolation -- I don't find that terribly happy-making. This episode was a lovely gift. I think I found my Sam&Dean squee. <3 Look at their knees touching.
P.S. EVERYTHING IN THIS EPISODE COUNTS EVEN THOUGH IT'S AU. Plus, they remember it.
I loved that the rock-paper-scissors outcome was different in this alternate timeline. With the changes there, did Dean maybe perhaps have less of a need to be always the protector? If their found family structure was different, the domino effect and so he didn't always let Sam win.
Oh, Ellen, and Bobby, I can't even.
I thought I'd be kind of pissed off watching it because I'd rather have this where the Harvelles survived and the show is TAUNTING me with what I can't have but instead it was like the Ellen Appreciation episode. Also it makes it all feel less revolving door-like that we got so much of the impact both the Harvelles and the loss of Rufus had.
One thing I have been craving like air is more of Sam being the protector. THIS WAS SO ADORABLE. And also apparently in this continuity, Dean still got attacked by hell hounds.
Atropos was very cute and I agree with people who said they totally acted like exes. UNF. I ship it.
Oh, and by the way:
CANON SHOUT-OUT. BOOYAH. (see above. *points* Everything counts in this episode). Balthazar was looking right at Dean. There was also a lot of Castiel looking right at Dean in this ep and Dean looking right back at Castiel.
Except that telling moment where Castiel averted his eyes. CASTIEL YOU LYING LIARIFIC LIAR. He's doing regrettable things, but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about the Winchesters (and especially Dean, WHO HE IS IN LOVE WITH, heeee).
BOOOOOOYYYYYYYS. <3
"I just wanted you to know that."
♥ but OH CAS what are you doing, honey? Oh I see what they did there. Castiel knows he's doing wrong things for the right end goals, and he believes in those end goals. If he's worried about Sam and Dean finding out about those regrettable things, and how they'll feel about him once they know, this is his attempt to plant in them a reminder that his intentions at least are good. It's the equivalent of the "no matter what happens, no matter what you see me do, know that I meant well and I cared for you" speech. Not that this excuses what he's doing, but he's not evil, either. And he knows he's screwed, and he knows he's doing regrettable things. *flails*
Dean covering up Bobby with the blanket while Sam looks on, the EXPRESSION on Sam's face. I can't even. It's been a while since the show gave me the good kind of catharsis cry. This is the first one in S6. Also HI SAM I MAY HAVE MENTIONED THIS FOR EARLIER EPISODES BUT IT IS GOOD TO HAVE THE REAL YOU BACK.
When is this show ever this kind? Who are you and what have you done with Supernatural? (It's a trap, I tell you. A trap!)
I'm so screwed.
6x18 the picspam, er, got a little out of control. That's going up in a separate post.

At some point I need to make a post about Fringe, OMG OMG OMG FRINGE. I loved the weird one last week with a special weird love and this week's was fantastic. Why does John Noble not have ALL THE AWARDS?
And I commence the flailing countdown to Doctor Who (which I am going to watch on the BBC-A airing tonight).
