White Collar

Neal! Peter getting kidnapped right in front of him, poor Neal, and Neal not being able to run there in time (and on paper "slomo run of frantic worry" sounds ridiculous but White Collar is very graceful at this kind of thing and it wasn't, it was stylized just the right way and reflecting Neal's state of mind). And then Peter was in a cage. Peter in a cage for most of the episode, Peter in a cage being a BAMF with his calm stare ALONE. Holy crap. PETER BURKE IN A CAGE.

This ep did two things that I've been waiting and waiting to see. Firstly, getting to see El's pov when Peter was in deadly danger. We didn't get to see how she reacted after Peter was poisoned, and this was a few steps beyond the worry when Peter was on the lam. The difficulties of being married to a law enforcement officer, and being scared. Oh, El. *flail* Of course she bosses the FBI agents in her house around. Hee, and how she barks at them "let's GO," before they even have a chance to get out of their seats. Also, how El goes right to Neal, knowing Neal will do just about anything for Peter, and she's not afraid to ask him to do it outright. Which is both about her worry for Peter but also how she sees Neal and he can fix all the things, she trusts him.

Secondly that thing they did where Neal gave up his last cling to the possibility of Kate, and reached the acceptance that she's really gone, to save Peter. Oh show hi I see what you did there. ♥

Jeff Eastin tweeted that he's always wanted to do an Apollo 13 type scene and apparently the people from the show had even more fun with that than I did, and I was flailing with joy. :D

AND THEN THERE WAS HUGGING. \o/
