Kono has a really bad day on the way to her graduation from the police academy. She gets taken hostage, proves she can keep her head in a bad situation, pretty much kicks ass throughout, and then misses her graduation. The impromptu ceremony the H50 team gives her at the end makes me eleven kinds of happy, it had a real sense of the team as family, as well as being a great character note for Kono. I love how Grace Park plays her.
