There were tons of things I wasn't spoiled for. O.o
Googling "Castiel + angel" is illuminating (also, I guessed that's what Castiel was early in the ep). No, Dean was not born on a Thursday, I already checked.
Wait. WAIT. WINGS? In canon! O.o The benevolent (well, for various definitions of benevolent) supernatural forces finally decided to show up and again I go O.o. "We've got work for you."
Castiel. Can we keep him? Please? He's scary and pretty.
I haven't even read the graphic novels and I know we're in Hellblazer territory here.
I really love that Sam's powers are scarily manifest but that they've also put Dean into the supernatural mythology, in a supernatural way.

Wait, no WAIT. Sam's first reaction to Dean, LUNGING at him because he thinks Dean's something not!Dean and then when he realizes it IS Dean...
...and then there was mutual hugging. There hasn't been mutual hugging yet where they're both clinging on for dear life. \o/

I don't like what they did to Pamela, but everything else was so awesome.
And the episode was GORGEOUS. Kim Manners. That filling station, and the way this was shot and did anyone else notice the complete lack of music for the first half? The silences crackled.
