Good casefile. I like the premise of the demon being able to possess the house, and I like the solution Sam finds. It’s not perfect, and that feels right because the boys can’t always find the perfect way to solve a case. Sometimes they have to pick the only decent option left to them, one that’ll perhaps endanger other people but at least removes the immediate threat.

Favorite lines:

"Whuh?" Dean jerked his head up from where he'd had his cheek pressed against the wooden tabletop.

I so love this image. *pets him*

In the kitchen, the fridge and stove had been pulled out years ago, leaving squares where the linoleum floor was paler. A raised circle on the wall, plastered and painted over, marked where there had probably been a coal stove once.

Good details.

Sam finished his donut and rubbed his fingers together to get the sugar off.

I’m picturing this, and it’s making my fingers feel sticky from sugar. *g*

his voice gone raw, as cracked as the paint on the old place,

Good analogy.

The ridges in the wheel of the lighter rubbed rough against his skin.

Good detail.

Around them, the car hummed as it devoured the road.

Dean reached out and switched on the radio. "Yeah," he said, over a blast of harsh electric guitar, "I definitely hate demons."

Nicely ended. Feels like the way an episode would end, with the Impala on the road and that last comment from Dean.

The possessed house thing was a nightmare I had. O.o

I'm glad you liked that imperfect end. I think it's a little bleak, but Sam was desperate and so long as it's not THE demon, I could see him, even this early, not minding if the thing got away, small price to pay for Dean being alive and well. The love and pragmatism Sam showed in Faith.

Heh. Food. There always has to be food in the fic! *g*

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, dear. I'm pleased you enjoyed this.

Yikes! That would be unsettling.
