young Dean and Sam, an elementary school play, cardboard swords. :-)

Duel (Gen, G, preseries)

"Hold the sword like this." Dean demonstrated.

"Wait, it needs another staple," Sam said, lowering his blade.

Rolling his eyes, Dean got the stapler from among the scraps of cardboard littering the table.

"You done messing around?" Finished, Dean lifted his blade. "How can you do this if you don't know how to fight with a sword?"

"I wanted to play Peter," Sam said, as cardboard knocked against cardboard.

Dean snorted. "Captain Hook's way cooler." He swung.

Sam ducked. "Peter Pan can fly."

"But Hook's a pirate," Dean said firmly, scoring a hit. "And you're not keeping your guard up."

Aww, look at the cute boys playing swordfight. *pets them* Funny thing is, as I read this, my oldest daughter is reading "Peter Pan." *g*

Neat timing, heh.

I used Peter Pan as the most obvious play kids might put on that had swordfighting in it, but then it also seemed apt for Sam and Dean's Peter Pan vs. Hook debate.

It may well be. I used Peter Pan because it was a play kids do put on that would have swordfights but having decided that, I realized how they might have Peter Pan vs. Hook opinions.
