Buttons

My experience has taught me the following. Anyone who wears a button saying "Bi, Poly, Kinky and still not sleeping with you"? Is most likely a person that is ugly and you do not want to sleep with.

"Ugly" is obvs subjective, but I do always find it interesting, the people who think everyone wants to sleep with them.

OTOH, it's a totally valid feminist-y type statement, considering that women who are labelled "sluts" (i.e., any sexual women, and plenty who aren't) are expected to service every man who comes across their path asking for it.

Agreed.

Ugly is more of a state of mind then looks because what one person is attractive to? Others may find repulsive? its all subjective!

I, too, assumed it was trying to unpack the baggage assigned to women who dare to disagree with conventional standards of sexual behavior--that because they are 'not prudes,' they therefore must be nookie dispensing machines, dispensing nookie on demand.

Silly me. How was I to know with my floofy little ladybrain that it was really signalling the wearer's repulsiveness? *giggles coyly*

I never got that impression from reading it. I always found it saying more, "LOL U SUCKORZ" and never a feminist message, mostly because I've seen men using it.

And gay men aren't objectified as sluts?

The problem that pin is speaking to isn't an assumption that everyone wants to sleep with the one wearing it, it's an assumption that the wearer, by virtue of being bi, poly, and kinky, wants to sleep with everyone else.

Who has the time to sleep with everyone else for that matter?
