Oh come now, the OP doesn't believe that there is any such thing as a happy healthy mono relationship to begin with. "More stable' just means 'they're really poly and that's why they're cheating so they can be kind of part of my club and I won't discount them'.

I think he's thinking of relationships that are basically don't-ask don't-tell. I imagine it does let off a certain amount of steam, which... sort of stabilises things, I guess?
