Don't you just hate it when dogs do that BARKING thing?
Forget behavior modification because it obviously won't work on our super special sheltie who happens to bark a lot (because lord knows shelties aren't barky dogs to begin with)! Don't tell me ANYTHING other than a good brand of barking collar because people who don't like to cause their animals pain are HIPPIES.
Dude! You know, a bark collar won't work for long and since behavior modification takes time and possibly money and you know, time, DEBARK YOUR DOG! DON'T WORRY IT CAN STILL BARK, JUST A LOT QUIETER.
I can relate to the annoyance of a barking sheltie but what I can't understand is why a person would a) tune out all concerned responses (from hippies, no less) and b) suggest SURGICAL DEBARKING. How could someone live with themselves after doing such a thing? How could the sound of your poor dog ATTEMPTING to bark through its mutilated throat not bring on the worst kind of guilt in the world??
