From other website forum:

Bark Collars

How early can you put one on a dog?

We have a very barky puppy (part beagle, so it was to be expected) who is 2.5 months old... Is it too soon to get a collar for her?

Why not just debark them at birth?

stupid pet owners, electronic collars, non-lj, bark collars

Twenty bucks says it's a Puggle.

UGH, I don't understand- if you don't want a dog that barks a lot, don't get a fucking beagle! In fact, if you can't handle a dog barking you probably shouldn't have a dog.

First thing I said when my new neighbors moved in: Oh, shit, they have a Bagel.

And I work from home.

They don't.

The thing bays for four, five hours straight.

Oh, baying.

My mom owns a bar and one of her patrons is a guy who really needs to get his life together. (He's not so much a patron as a guy who wanders in occasionally to spout off about things and not order anything.) Anyways, he had a beagle puppy living in the saddle bag of his motorcycle. My mom convinced him to leave it with her so I could take it to the shelter (seriously - 4 month old beagle puppy? People *fight* over such cute dogs! And our shelter screens homes really well.)

I had it in my apartment for *one* night and in that night, I confirmed that I never ever want a beagle. Especially not a baby one.

They want to put a BARK collar? On a PUPPY? Why not just get Flippy, *bark bark FLIP!*...That way they can turn it off.
Or a goldfish.

My downstairs neighbor/landlord's son at the last apartment I was in had a golden retriever x beagle. It bayed for 4 or 5 hours every morning when he left for work, which was usually between 5 and 6 AM. I didn't like the man, and I didn't particularly care for his dog, either. I later learned that the dog and its previous owner lived in the same apartment I was in and used to piss and shit everywhere (no wonder Caiman had such an easy time finding his favorite spot while we were potty-training.)

The stupid thing was that after the dog died, he gave us a note saying that we had to get rid of our dog or get evicted. Caiman made "too much noise" even though he doesn't even bark.
