I already have three dogs, but they live outside and now I want to know should I get another smaller dog to live inside and take places and, you know, treat like a pet? Because lord knows I don't have enough dogs already! No sirree! I need me a basset hound, because, you know, bassets are small and portable and my labs and goldens apparenlty aren't ( Read more... )

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bassett Hounds are LARGER than Labradors and Golden Retreivers, right?

Nevermind, I looked up the breed standard and it turns out that they're all around the same size. That is, male retreivers get bigger than what I thought, but female retreivers are about the same size as male Bassets.

Anyway, why get a large, active breed of dog if you don't know how to manage it?
