I ended up researching dog nutrition, etc., tonight since someone else wouldn't. (Inspiration, eh.) In my search for more things to read I stumbled across the following quote:
"I think the major problem with owner prepared diets is an attempt to satisfy the needs of pets by making one recipe and not varying it."
...Because, OMG, kibble is so varied! Every bag contains different things! It's not the same recipe produced over and over and over again. You should feed kibble. Totally. Raw feeding is bad, mmmmmmmmmkay?
I found that quote here:
http://www.vetinfo.com/drawmeat.html Since finding that website I have made many "Buh???" noises. It's sad that this is written by a "veterinarian." His responses often contain statements that are entirely devoid of common sense. But then, he is a veterinarian and has time constraints. Perhaps this keeps him from thinking things through thoroughly before posting. Hm.
And what's the deal with complaining about ancedotal evidence and then using ancedotes to prove that your belief(s) is/are okay? Sigh!
