More on Alpha Rolling
Yes, the solution is to alpha roll the great dane, how DARE he growl when you try to push him off the couch. The damn dog should KNOW you are the boss, push him to the ground and hold him on his back! Growl back at him, hold his jaws shut. It doesn't matter that your dog outweights you by a significant amount, you MUST show him who is boss. It doesn't matter that he just came from a bullying situation where he was abused and never give him own soft comfy place on the couch. He is OBVIOUSLY challenging your authority and dominance! You must break him now! Positive reinforcement means nothing! DOn't EVER pet a dog who is not completely under your ultimate and unquestioning control! You're dog is NOTHING!
Damn I hate stupid people... and alpha rolling a great dane? I weight about 175, and let me tell you, I guarantee you that that dane weighs as much or more than I do. He's stronger, faster, heavier, and I'm sure that if I take him directly from an abusive situation and then shove him down and force him to submit, he'll be SO thankful that he'll love me forever...
