Menopause diaries: HRT day 3

Apr 29, 2021 22:59

The lingering headache started at some point during the first sleep cycle, around midnight, and dropped in and out of my awareness until I gave up and took ibuprofen at lunchtime. This is new since the hysterectomy, didn't know headaches could arrive during sleep. Getting up was not great, but the day was energetic with a stable good mood while I rewrote the majority of the (pretty interesting) student paper in quite some detail. Covid rules specify we must leave work by 18:30, and I just made it onto the 21:26 train home, worried about getting banned from the building so didn't enter a leaving time on the sheet at reception. This is rebellion in the civil service.

On the upside, at work I am the first uterus owner in my generation to be going through menopause and gaining all this knowledge, so everyone is interested in the gory details. Having good conversations. Or maybe it's the inevitable intensity of social re-engagement after the break.

The real test will be the Bank Holiday weekend. Weekends are a struggle compared to working days: getting a life hasn't been helped by pandemic. Expecting lethargy and grump.
