Someone please tell me what the hell they're doing
I just started typing and this came out... I like it, but what the hell are my characters doing?
"“Vous blaguez, non?” (You’re joking/kidding, right?)I tossed my head, flicking my black-dyed hair out of my left eye, where it was prone to falling.
“Non, Mec, je ne blague pas. C’est le vérité.” (No, dude, I’m not joking. It’s the truth.) He assured me that he wasn’t joking. I raised an eyebrow. Should I believe this weird French guy? I wasn’t good at judging the possible sarcasm in his voice because French wasn’t my first language. I peered into his brown eyes. He shifted his posture, uncomfortable of being looked at that way. If he was serious, I could be rich and famous in a day. If he was joking, my only loss was whatever bribe it took to get in there.
“Ok, je vous donne l’argent, mais si vous étés fausse…” (Ok, I’ll give you the money, but if you’re wrong…) I left the ending open, an unspoken threat. I pulled a twenty-euro bill out of my pocket, and handed it over. The guard made a face, like “what could a skinny emo boy do to me?” but he turned and stuffed the bill in his pocket. I followed the large man through a door labeled “crew only”. I wasn’t crew, but I was dressed to blend in. An underweight kid like me, dressed all in black, including my ‘girl jeans’, could easily be a gofer or a roadie. "
What is he joking about? Who is the main character? Where are they? Why is the bribe only E20? HELP SOMEBODY!!! THIS IS OPEN TO ~your~ INTERPRETATION!
