Sitting behind us on the 28X coming home from the airport was a young guy (maybe 25ish) and his two young children. One was a baby-sized child who, I'm assuming, was pre-verbal. The other was a little girl who talked quite a bit, but hadn't quite grasped the knock knock joke, yet. So, most of the bus ride was filled with these kind of half knock knock jokes with no punchlines. Or knock knock jokes with punchlines that...didn't quite punch.
My favorite was this one, though:
Knock knock.
Who's there?
United States.
United States who?
United States, I'm going to cut you up...with a knife.
Brian called that one the "Call child services" joke, but, if you ask me, she's got a future.
