Whatever blah blah whatever

Things don’t always work out as we plan. For example, when I came to Japan to teach English I had planned to have a good experience and maybe stay 2 years. I hadn’t planned on being such a bad teacher and having the problems that I’ve had. When I bought dinner tonight at the local grocery store I bought fried eggplant. What I hadn't planned was that I’d like it. When I got ready to eat, I planned on opening my chopsticks package. I hadn’t planned on the toothpick to poke out and jab me in the finger forcing me to find a band-aide. And when I had decided to surprise my family and friends in May by coming home for a short visit, I hadn’t planned on the conv. with my dad this morning and realizing that all of my plans weren’t going to work out and I don’t get to come home for another 3 months.
Things don’t always work out as we plan.
On a side note, when I later looked at the chopstick package it actually has a pix of a hand and a toothpick stabbing it, with the words “Toothpick may hurt your finger.” To which I gave a short laugh, put my hands over my eyes and started to cry a bit. Stopped crying, picked up my eggplant, realized I really didn’t like it that much, and finished my sweet potato stuff (I really like it and I plan to always like it).
The plan right now is maybe I will go to Seoul again. It’s a good way for me to get out of the country, away from everything, and it’s about half the price of going to the US. I’ll be home soon enough, just after I learn the lesson God is trying to teach me.
