Summary: He has a wedding to attend, but he is not happy.

The sounds of a crowd cheering hurts his ears but he still can't turn away. He has to see it with his own eyes. He has to witness how low he has fallen, just to be aware of how high he was before.

He has always dreamed of having that hand closing around his, those eyes settled upon his, that smile shining only for him. And now he has lost it all to someone he had once loved. He will never admit how much it hurts to know that Scorpius doesn't care for him anymore, that he fell out of love - how could he, when he had promised? - and into Lily's arms, all in one week.

He closes his eyes, clutching the small rose lily his sister has put in the buttonhole of his tuxedo, wishing he could vanish it right here and right now but he can't because Lily wanted a Muggle wedding to invite her Muggle friends, and magic is forbidden. He can almost feel the weight of a ring on his finger, just like he once dreamed, but when he looks at his left hand there is only bare skin.

The touch of lips on lips still lingers on his mouth, the memories of that last kiss burning in his mind. A lonely tear finds its way towards his palm, and he brushes it off angrily. All he needs is a sign, that ring, a kiss, the knowledge that Scorpius still cares. But when he opens his eyes there's only a trembling flutter of a feeling long since dead.

Albus Potter cannot escape a fate that was sealed with just three words.

"Yes, I do."
