uaap cheerdance

i had no intention to watch the uaap cheerdance live in araneta. ewan. vibes siguro, i felt that ust will relinquish their crown this year. hehe, nagka-totoo nga. here's my take about the whole event.
UP pep's winning is well-deserved. i had goosebumps watching their performance. (ano pa kaya kung live with all the people cheering?) astig ng stunts (as always) and choreography (this time synchronized na!) the "rock" theme rocks.
on UST, i was actually surprised that 'gawi ended up as a runner-up. their performance wasn't that strong, walang "goosebumps" factor. after the failure of their first pyramid, you could already sense that they were loosing the confidence and "angas" factor. (well, the boos and cheers around helped, hehe.) but i think even if they were able to execute well that particular stunt, UP will still come first. ust's routine was just as good as last year. the only thing that stood out for me was the '70s routine (yeah, with the yellow wigs), which actually did not work much for them because la salle, the first performers, had it too. pero good job pa rin kahit paano. synchronized (as always) and clean (almost) ang performance. 5-peat is enough and already rewarding. next year bawi tayo!
FEU, on the other hand, has reason to be frustrated. it was obvious in their faces when they were announced 2nd runners-up. i think almost everyone expects them to steal the title this season coming out very strong last year. grabe nga ang confidence nila while performing and they have pretty unique routines.
the rest ok naman. but la salle's performance was, i guess, the most unfortunate. the detriment of performing first, i guess again. no need to elaborate, because it was pretty obvious and... embarrassing. tsk.. tsk..
i always look forward to this event kasi it parades school spirits. may nagtext sa akin na nagsagutan daw thru banners ang UP and UST sa araneta.
UP last year: "UP kami, kayo?
UST sumagot this year: "Kami po ang university of santo tomas"
UP sumagot agad: "So?"
UST: abangan natin ang sagot, next year.
hehe, natutuwa ako sa mga ganitong witty rivalry.
