When I was seven or so - under ten, anyhow - I read a comic book where there was something going on at Mount Rushmore that the heroes needed to stop. As they got off, Spider-Man said, "We head north by northwest!"

Sometime in my teens, I saw a particular Hitchcock film.

I didn't put this together until last night.

I know what's going on - two memories that didn't really connect until just now. But that doesn't stop me from wondering what took me so long to get the joke.
