[Its the 16th deck that finally sends Anna over the edge - she’s there running from things, her life, her issues - it’s a deck that takes her concentration, that makes her think and count seconds in order to move in time and avoid falling. It prevents her from thinking too much.

That is, until she starts curiously opening the doors. The first few ( Read more... )

[Simba is actually on his way to visit Link when he hears the crashing. He decides to investigate, against his better judgment. Curiosity killed the who now?

Anyway he looks a little relieved when he realizes it's only Anna. She gets a smile as he trots closer.]

Hey! Are you okay?

[The tiger jerks when she hears someone speak to her, and when Simba gets close enough, he'll notice there's nothing about Anna within those eyes. It's just pure fury and chaos swimming in them. Anna's struggling for control of the beast, but she can't win. The most she can do is manage a word for him, a word only he will understand, because of what he is. ]

Run.

[He stops almost immediately when she turns to look at him. Is it just him or did everything just get really really creepy. He studies Anna for a minute. Something's wrong.]

What's the matter?

[Though he's not running like she told him to, he makes no move to edge closer to her. There's enough space between them that he can defend himself if he needs to. He's really hoping he won't need to.]

[Oh, Simba. That was your one chance to go, because Anna's completely lost control of herself again, and it's all beast and no humanity - there's no recognition or sense of morality in those eyes. All the tiger can see is a threat.

She suddenly lunges at him, jaws open wide to snap at his neck.]

[Riku's on his way back to his room for a shower; he's been up in the gym working out and practicing his forms some more with his wooden sword. The sword was stashed where he's been keeping it in the forest, near the supplies he's been gathering for the treehouse he's planning to make, and Riku's clattering down the stairs without much regard for who might be around.

When he catches a flicker of movement, though, he pauses.

There's a moment of indecision as he debates whether to investigate or not, but it doesn't last long. Riku jumps the last few steps to the deck proper, slinking to peer around the corner where he saw the movement disappear.]

[The noise is sharp in her ears, and it's annoying. Clearly agitated and angry, the tiger whirls around, snarling loud enough to echo off the walls. There's power coursing through her, the buff she'd gained when opening the last door had boosted her strength, stamina, and agility (as if a tiger needs any of that).

Heading towards the noise and rounding that corner, she snarls, jumping at whoever might be standing there.]

[Riku freezes slightly when he hears the first snarl--what in the -worlds- is that? It can't be what he thinks it is... He creeps a little more slowly after that, but is still not entirely prepared when a -tiger- bounds around the corner and leapsathimwhatholycrap!

Riku shouts, his reflexes the only thing keeping him from being instantly mauled by the gigantic cat. Riku throws his arms out to block, claws ripping into one forearm as he throws himself back. He reaches out as he goes down, pushing into the tiger's chest as he brings both legs into his chest, driving both heels upwards into her stomach in an effort to push her onwards past him.

If he gets trapped under the tiger, he knows he's already signed his own death warrant. And, well, maybe he's strange, but he doesn't quite feel like dying today.]

[Her momentum propels her forward, and, coupled with his shove, shes pushed away and slams into the opposite wall.

Now shes angry.

Whirling, she crouchs down and snarls at him again, claws digging into the carpet, ready to leap at him again.]

[Duck has been sort of exploring! Meeting Rain last night really made her feel like expanding her horizons, somewhat. So, off she goes, giggling as she jumps the last couple of stairs in the stairwell, heading down as far as she can get away with.

She hears a noise around a corner.]

Huh?

[And peers around to see what it might be.]

[Anna is breathing hard and bleeding from her encounter with Simba, but the look in her eyes is still unfocused and glazed. Theres no recognition there, just animal, instincts and hunger.

So, when she hears a giggle and gets whiff of a new scent, she slinks against a wall, edging closer typo the source. As soon as she sees that face peek around, she roars and charges.]

[Now, it's one thing for Duck back home to see a talking, bipedal cat-- after all, one teaches her ballet-- but a full-grown tiger is a shock.

One that is charging at her is even scarier.]

QUACK!!!

[Instead of a girl, there is now a tiny little yellow duck flapping for its life to get away-- she still smells the same, though. She makes bounding, fluttering leaps, but never actually succeeds in flying.]

[Daxter is just minding his own business as he crawls along the air vents. It's not a particularly enjoyable pastime, but it helps him learn his way around and sometimes he can even spy on people.

A scream rings out through the ducts and Daxter jumps hard enough to his his head on the metal. He curses, rubbing his scalp but hurries in the direction of the scream. Sure, he probably can't do anything -might be too afraid to do something- but he should at least go see.

Unfortunately, the vent he steps on isn't quite as secure as he'd have liked and he tumbles out of the air duct and onto the deck below.]

[The tiger was definitely not expecting such a tasty looking morsel to drop almost literally in her lap. She had no idea what he actually is but to a hungry tiger?

He looks like food.

So she charges, mouth open and twisted into an angry snarl as she leaps at what she considers to be dinner.]

Waaugh!

[Holy mother of-!

Daxter scrambles back, but is still weak and disoriented and ends up falling back and hitting his head on the ground. He has to get away, he has to get away-

He's not going to make it.]

[Well, that worked out even better than Anna could have planned. Not only did dinner fall right into her lap, but it's stupid enough to not get to its feet and run, instead it falls over and hits its head.

She skids to a stop and with a MIGHTY ROAR, leans over to snap at his face.]

[Cyrus hasn't been taking the elevators for the past few days. He's full of irritated energy that he just can't seem to get rid of, but physical activity helps, at least. He's one turn of a corner from the next flight of stairs back to his own deck.

What he doesn't expect is a giant cat tearing up deck six. He's never seen one quite like it, but this is a predator he's looking at - he doesn't need to know why it's striped or where it came from. He needs to get out. Maybe if he moves very slowly, the tiger won't notice...]

[She may not have heard him initially despite sensitive hearing, shes too busy decimating... Something.

But, unfortunate for Cyrus, Anna's hearing eventually does pick up on his movements, and the tiger stills momentarily. She turns slowly to face him, a low, threatening growl slipping past her curled lips, snarl deepening until it turns into a roar. A...very loud roar.

And then shes running, right at him.]

[Aw, shit.

When she starts growling, Cyrus's pace quickens, but then she's running. He knows he can't outrun an animal like this. He's not even armed. This is bad.

He ducks back around the corner, facing the tiger with both arms up. If she's going to pounce, he'd rather she tears up his arms than his chest.]

[The running turns into a full speed intended assault, massive limbs thundering down the hall as she heads in his direction. She skids around the corner, claws extending as she launches herself to pounce at him, talons slashing.]
