(no subject)
After reading journal entries from my Eastern friends(those of you in PA) I have seen a few interesting things. One is that I see alot of "we should be better friends" or something of the sort. Something to do with deepening friendships. And, I also see alot of low self esteem, a loss of self worth. I can understand these things, but it seems to be a constant thing, however I may be wrong in that. But, at the same time I may be right. Let me share with you a quote from Mother Teresa:
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, people may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world your best anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
That last sentence...It was never between you and them anyway. It's about God and yourself. It's not about other people, or having their approvel. What can man give you that is better than what God can give you? I'm not saying I don't ever have any of these problems, because I do. Let's remember who we are in Christ. We are FREE, we are NEW, REDEEMED! We are complete in Christ. I write this to encourage, not discourage. Forget what people think, forget what people might say. Step it up and live how God wants you to, follow his word. The only way to follow his word is to study it and know what it says. I love you all, you are really a great group of teens. I enjoyed seeing how well you all got along while I was there. But let me tell you what, God loves you more than I do. He thinks you are super great. He loves with you a passion, regardless of your faults and how many times you mess up. God views you and his child and he loves you very much. Have a wonderful week.
