cancun
well i've been back from cancun for almost 4 days so i'll try and finally re-tell what i did while i was there
Monday: we left LAX at about 1 in the morning to finally trek onto cancun. the flight had a 5 min stop over at mexico city before going to cancun. the flight lasted abour 4 hours and i was knocked out the whole time. =) then we stopped over at mexico city and after a 2 hour flight i was finally in sunny cancun! my first impression was kinda bad b/c the arrival portion of the airport was rather dirty. however that all changed. when the driver came and picked us up he started spoiling us! he carried all our bags and opened and closed the door for us (now i know why girls like it when guys do that). We stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel which is a 4.5 star hotel!!! it's also the newest and top rated hotel in cancun. shit man that place was hot. once again people opened the door for us and after walking through a humid hot section of the drive in of the hotel, i walked into an air conditioned marble filled heaven!!! once we got our room fixed i was knocked out for about 6 hours. finally woke up about 6 pm and went to a mall called Kukulcan Plaza and ate at OKMaguey. thats where i had my first sip of alcohol!! i had a daiquiri. omg it was freaking good...mango flavor!! i also ate some authentic fajitas and damn it was freaking good!!!
Tuesday: this was our first tour at cancun. we went to Isla Mujeres otherwise known was Island of Women. We took a sail/motor boat over there which took about 45 mins. the boat was pretty lively! it was filled with a bunch of white people that danced to some wierd mexican trance music. that was the first time i was exposed to the water's of cancun. its fucking pretty. even though i was on the boat i was able to see about 10 feet down below the water. it was so blue and the sky was nice and clear. the boat included an open bar so my mom ordered me some coke and rum, she had a screwdriver, and my dad a corona. once we got to the other island i was able to swim with a shark!!! omg it was so cool the texture of the shark was so rough and that crap is heavy. i forgot what type it was but damn that was fun. after swimming with the sharks it was time for snorkling!!! the snorkling area was one mile long and i had to drag my sister along with me since she couldnt do it on her own. omg the fish are so nice. i saw so many fishes that looked like dory!!! but there werent many coral areas for the fish but it was pretty none the less!!! the main part of the snorkling trip was seeing an underwater statue of the virgin mary. once again we borded the boat and circled the other side of the island to have some all you can eat mexican food. the food is so freaking good i had taquitos, fresh fruit, fajita meat, pasta, and rice and beans. lets just say i got two plates worth of food stacked onto one plate. one observation i made while on that island is that no matter how poor you look everyone has a cell phone. i saw people that looked like bums with a nicer cell phone than me!! its weird.
Wednesday: This day was our first free day of the whole trip...woke up a little later in the day and went to supermercado 28...that place is just a bazaar!!! its so cool its about a 1 mile diameter of people selling souveniers. i got everyone there stuff mostly from this place . i noticed that mexicans are liars!! they say they have the best prices when they really dont...grrrr i could have saved 20 bucks...my sister got her hair braided and when i asked the lady to do mine she laughed at me!!! so i just got my tatoos...thirty bucks!! damn ripoff...oh well after that i went back to the hotel and off to the beach...my body was sticky from humidity and jumped right in the water...and guess who was there?!?! edwardo najera...that guy is pretty buff not tall but has a huge chest...that night we ate at joe's crab shack..dang we had all you can eat seafood and steak..omg i ate nonstop for about 2 hours..there was also an open bar so i drank a pinacolada and daquiri...the cool thing about the place was that there was a lagoon in the back where we sat..and right next to us were crabs and alligators in there!!
Thursday: This had to be the longest of all the days...we went to the Mayan ruin capital of Chi Chi Nitza something like that....omg we went to some supposed five star hotel that was crap and ate lunch at first..then walked through the jungle to look at ruins...the Mayans were pretty freaking smart...they made buildings so sound bounced off of them and they were able to talk one mile apart since their voice carried..there was a giant 365 step pyramid that i didnt climb from fear of more sunburn on top of my old ones..got back to the hotel after a long 2 hour bus ride and went to the beach and slept
Friday: The final free day of the trip..the whole day i spent it pool and beachside...i spent about 11 hours sleeping and swimming...you dont understand how beautiful the beach is...the water is so clear that you can see straight down and the water isnt too salty and the waves arent strong...the unique thing about the beach is that the water goes from shallow to deep and back to shallow then deep again...so i would body board about half a mile back to the sand...i parasailed this day!!! i saw all the hotels on "hotel road" and damn its nice...every single hotel has something unique about their beach location and hotel structure...my mom and sister were able to see sea turtles but i wasnt =/
Saturday: Woke up early to go speedboating!!!! our last tour was the jungle tour that let us drive speed boats...so i drove with my dad and went through the jungle...driving a speed boat is exactly the same as driving the car except for accelartion methods...the jungle was ok but we finally docked after a couple miles of boating to the snorkling area...lets just say this was the best snorkling spot i've ever been too..the water was kinda cold in the middle of the ocean but damn there were so many fish!! another thing was that the reef is still alive and the corals are huge!!! i didnt touch any so they would stay alive but damn...there were soo many pretty fish of all different colors including this giant angel fish id like to scan in later...but gahhh corals and fish are so great...after speed boating back to the hotel i headed over to the gym for one last final workout..i worked out for about 2 hours on these cool machines...i mainly focused on my abs though along with my biceps..for dinner we headed off for la isla which was an outdoor mall...there i went to senior frogs!!! that place is a landmark in cancun and is mainly known for hanging people upside down and giving the people tequilla...i didnt drink for once and just bought stuff at their store...got jess her thong and myself a shirt =)
and yes that was my cancun trip..had my daily dosage of sun that made my black and gave me a killer tan..but all in all it was a great trip..i loved the hotel and the people..everyone was very friendly and made me feel like a king...i say we go to cancun during spring break =D

and yes that was my cancun trip..had my daily dosage of sun that made my black and gave me a killer tan..but all in all it was a great trip..i loved the hotel and the people..everyone was very friendly and made me feel like a king...i say we go to cancun during spring break =D
