Sean picked up the picture of his family and threw it against the wall, making Eric jump. “The hell?”
“She was stupid,” Sean said. “She was stupid and selfish and I hate her.”
Eric stood up, rescuing the photo from the garbage can where it had landed after hitting the wall. There was a crack in the glass, right over Sean’s face and spider0webbing out. The glass over Rose’s face remained undamaged, and she gazed sullenly outward. To be honest, Eric couldn’t remember the last time he’d seen his sister smile. He tried to come up with words to defend her, but nothing would come. “Sean…”
“I’m glad she’s dead!” his twin said bitterly.
“No, you’re not. You’re just angry.”
“So why aren’t you?” Sean demanded, rounding on Eric, his rage twisted face reflected back at him by Eric’s silvery flesh.
“Because I’m busy wishing she was still here.”
