Jubilee leaned against the frame of the bathroom door, clearly failing to suppress a smile as she watched Jono attempt to climb out the window. He looked back at her, licked his lips, and said, “This is not what it looks like.”
“It looks like you’re trying to climb out the bathroom window to keep from seeing Paige.”
There was a moment of silence, during which Jono dropped his eyes. “Okay,” he admitted, “it is what it looks like.”
“And you’re stuck,” she noted.
“Little bit. Do me a solid and give me a push?”
“You’ll have to face her sooner or later,” Jubilee reminded him. “You can’t hide forever.”
“Watch me.”
