Nico didn't even notice the tears streaming down her face as she held Karolina's bracelet in her hands. It was still warm, and even through the trickle of tears, she could see the patina that developed on something oft worn. She opened her mouth to try and say something, to cast some spell that would bring Karolina back. But nothing would come out, not even a squeak.
Her world was falling apart again.
She wanted to scream, to take back the last few hours. She wanted to go back to before than damn alien had come and taken Karolina away. She'd kiss Karolina if that was what it would take to make her stay.
