Julian blinked at the retreating back of Victor’s new boyfriend, then looked at Victor. “Did he just growl at me?” he asked.
“I told you not to look him in the eyes. To him it’ a challenge,” Victor said, clearly exasperated. “He’s a little-”
“He’s a werewolf,” Julian said, his tone flat. “And he growled at me when I touched you.”
“He didn’t mean anything by it. It’s just instinct for him, Cut him a little slack and let him get used to you. And don’t start anything with him, okay? I like this guy. He’s nice.”
“I nice, growly werewolf. Riiight. He’s not a puppy who followed you home, Vic.” Julian paused a moment. “Okay, maybe he is. An extra large, dangerous puppy that growls at me.”
“Leave him alone, Julian.”
“I’ll be good if he will.”
