Nezhno Abidemi had never seen a woman as beautiful as Ororo Munro. It was easy for him to see that she was indeed a goddess in mortal form. She was the embodiment of grace, in all the ways that word meant.
She was the first person to smile at him with genuine warmth. He couldn’t remember anyone who had ever looked at him like that, not even his own mother.
Was it any wonder that he followed her all the way to that school with so few reservations (though he did come to regret going later, when he had to deal with his so-called peers)? He was half in love with her before she even spoke a word to him, and he would had followed her anywhere.
Of course, it made perfect sense that this living goddess would become the bridge of the living avatar of the Panther God. It was clearly destiny.
Nezhno was honored to be allowed to watch the ceremony, even though his heart felt like it might be breaking. He knew his place in the world, and it was too far below this goddess, his Queen, for her to do more than she already tried to do for him.
