Jono watched Paige snuggle with the clearly well loved stuff dog, then looked down at the picture of her father in his hands. The man in the photo sat on the front porch, a guitar balanced on one knee, surrounded by his family, all of whom where happy and smiling. Closest to the long dead man's knee was little Paige, clinging to a much less raggedy version of the stuffed dog.
He looked back at Paige, and he knew with absolute certainty that he needed to leave.
To be honest, Jono didn't know why he'd come here with her in the first place. Well, actually, he did. She'd looked at him with those big blue eyes, and he'd let her lead him around by the nose. He should have known better. He wasn't what Paige was really looking for, even if she didn't know it yet.
