Tommy sat down on the ground, tired, panting, filthy, and clutching an unconscious mutant girl. “What I did,” he gasped, trying to keep air moving into his lungs, “was either very, very brave… or really fucking stupid.” He looked down at the girl in his arms and pushed some of her muck encrusted black streaked pink hair away from her face. “If you’ve gone all evil,” he told the unconscious girl, “this is really gonna suck when you wake up.”
He flopped back on the grass, staring up at the night sky, the girl held close with one arm. “Nah… you’re too cute to be evil. Evil doesn’t do pink… does it?” His eyebrows came together as he pondered his own question. “Well, there’s that Diamondback chick, but she’s a good guy now, I think. And she’s way hot.”
Tommy turned his head, looking at the girl he had rescued from the demon guy. “You might be completely hot under all the grunge. It’s kinda hard to tell. But you’re definitely cute.” He closed his eyes and went back to trying to focus on breathing in and out. “I’m gonna lay here a bit more and babble before we get moving again, if that’s alright with you. I’m gonna take your ongoing unconsciousness as a yes.”
